Stain removal garden lounge

The garden lounge is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the outdoors, but stains and soiling can spoil the picture. Effective stain removal will help to keep your garden furniture looking fresh and inviting. Here are some stain removal tips for different materials on your garden lounge:

For upholstery and fabric covers

  1. Light stains: Mix a solution of mild washing-up liquid and warm water. Dip a soft cloth into the solution, wring it out and carefully dab the stain. Then rinse with clean water and leave to air dry.
  2. Stubborn stains: For deeper stains, a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water can help. Apply, rub in gently and then rinse with clean water. If necessary, a specific stain remover for upholstery fabrics can also be used, but always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. Mold and mildew: A solution of 1 part bleach and 4 parts water can help against mold and mildew on fabrics. Spray on, leave for a few minutes and then rinse thoroughly with water. However, test the solution on an inconspicuous area first to avoid discoloration.

For rattan, poly-rattan and wooden furniture

  1. General cleaning: Use a mild soap solution and a soft brush or cloth to remove dirt and light stains. Then rinse the furniture with a garden hose and allow it to air dry.
  2. Stubborn stains on rattan/poly rattan: A mixture of baking soda and water can be applied as a paste to stubborn stains. Leave on briefly, scrub gently and rinse with water.
  3. Wooden furniture: For stains on wood, fine sandpaper can be used carefully to remove the top layer. The wood should then be resealed or treated to protect it from further damage.

Important notes

Always test cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area first to ensure that no discoloration or damage occurs.
Avoid using aggressive chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the surfaces of your garden furniture.
After cleaning, it is important to allow the furniture to dry completely before using it again or covering it.
