As for the rattan furniture, it is suitable for outdoor use all year round. During rough winters, a simple plastic cover over the surface suffices. The stainless, powder-coated aluminium structure of the furniture does not take any damage, neither does the synthetic wickerwork. The fact that it really is weatherproof, is what makes our furniture so convenient, neither the sun, nor the snow can really harm it. Maintaining the wicker garden furniture is easy, all you need is regular soapy water.
Garden furniture for indoor and outdoor use
The rattan furniture of VIP Lounge is made from high-grade synthetic wickerwork and is therefore perfectly suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The light, powder-coated aluminium structure makes it surprisingly easy to transport, move around or rearrange. The wickerwork itself is tearproof and hand-woven. The cushion covers have a double seam, they are removable and machine washable. The pillow box is big enough to fit a whole lounge cushion cover set. Generally, our cushion covers come in beige and sandy brown. However, depending on the furniture version, there might other colours available. Synthetic wickerwork
Our garden furniture's synthetic wickerwork is easy to clean. In order to keep it clean and well looked after all you need to do is wipe the dirt off with a simple cloth and some soapy water. In case the furniture is substantially dirtier, we recommend the use of a soft brush. You may as well buy special synthetic wickerwork cleanser at a specialist's shop. The rattan furniture is 100% weatherproof, so the furniture is suitable for outdoor use all year round. We still recommend the purchase of a plastic cover. If you want to increase the durability of your furniture, keep your furniture inside a garage, a cellar or storage room during the winter.
Wooden garden furniture
In order to preserve the surface quality of our wooden furniture, we recommend the use of a maintenance product. Depending on the meteorological influences, the amount of time you have to invest in the maintenance may vary. Normally, two treatments a year should be enough. By using a maintenance product, you are preserving the stability of the coating and its shine. The product penetrates into the surface and refines it. Any minor damages (such as damage cause by hail) can be mended using a maintenance product, increasing the durability of the wooden furniture. The different maintenance products are easily commercially available.
Formation of resin
It is sometimes not possible to prevent resin from leaking from the wooden furniture. It is a natural phenomenon that occurs to local pine wood, such as larch and pine wood or to tropical types of wood.
Should resin leak from the surface of the furniture, we recommend following the following steps:
Resin leak: liquid and honey-like
Use a soft cloth and cleaning alcohol to get rid of the leak. After using the cleaning alcohol, we recommend using a regular wood maintenance product. Again, use a soft cloth and take care of the whole area. The treated area might appear a lot shinier at first, but it should recede after a few days.
Resin leak: dry and pearled
Use a hard object (e.g. your fingernail) to remove the dry resin. However, do not damage the wood itself. For larger areas you might want to use a non-woven abrasive.
