Viplounge.ch is one of the first suppliers of rattan garden furniture in Switzerland. Thus, we are equipped with a great deal of experience and know-how. Our first and most important concern is the high quality and also the variety of our products. During the last couple of years, we were able to meet with a lot of our customer's expectations. The production of our furniture has been influenced a lot by the wishes and demands of our consumers.

What is rattan?
The word "rattan" has its roots from the Malay language ("rotan"). The material comes from the Calamus palm, more commonly known as the rattan palm, which can grow up to 150 meters. There are an estimated 300 species in this genus, all native to tropical and subtropical Asia, Africa and Australia. What we refer to as rattan is the highly elastic outer skin of the plant's shoot. For this reason, rattan has proven to be an excellent material for the production of wickerwork and hand-woven wicker furniture, such as chairs and armchairs. In order to allow the rattan material to be woven, it must first gain its elasticity by being exposed to steam. (Source: Wikipedia)

Our synthetic version is almost identical to the natural rattan. Furthermore, it is more resistant to weather influences, more elastic and thus longer-lasting. Despite the synthetic wickerwork (poly-rattan), it has a very natural appearance and suits perfectly for both in and outdoor use. For the production of our weatherproof rattan furniture only materials of highest quality have been used. The UV-resistant material keeps the furniture's original colour from fading.
